When and why did you join the Seckford Education Trust?

I joined the Seckford Education Trust in February 2016 – I had been working in Bury St Edmunds for a closing Middle school.

How has the Seckford Education Trust supported your development?

I have never worked at a school where the leadership team have been so ready to listen.

The Trust care about all staff, with help and advice promoting our mental wellbeing, and our professional development.

Which specific aspects of the Seckford Education Trust’s CPD offer had the most impact on you?

I have had the chance to attend CPD sessions with experts in secondary school science.

What would you say to someone considering applying for a job within the Seckford Education Trust?

I feel that SET has a positive attitude and encourages real collaboration between the schools in the Trust.

At SET Ixworth there is a unique teamwork that spans across all subject departments. All staff are willing to help anybody in the school, right across all the roles, from support staff to the leadership team. The community spirit doesn’t just come from being a small school, the staff are a really helpful, caring group. We are a very inclusive school.

No students are ever left behind, they are all known as individuals.

Where do you see yourself in the Seckford Education Trust in 5 years?

I am sure I will still be enjoying my time with SET. I currently enjoy every day at work.
