When and why did you join the Seckford Education Trust?
I joined the Seckford Education Trust in September 2013, having moved to the area from Essex. I was drawn to the Trust because of its pledge to offer students a ‘foundation for life.’ On visiting SET Saxmundham for the first time, it was clear that the school’s ethos of ‘each and every’ matched my own.
How has the Seckford Education Trust supported your development?
Since joining the Trust, I have had the opportunity to progress from classroom teacher, to Subject Leader and now Trust Lead Practitioner. SET has supported me to grow as both a teacher and leader.
Which specific aspects of the Seckford Education Trust’s CPD offer had the most impact on you?
Last year, I took part in weekly leadership CPD. Learning from experts and working with senior colleagues from across our Trust transformed my practice. I have also learnt a great deal from regular line management sessions.
What would you say to someone considering applying for a job within the Seckford Education Trust?
Do it! I joined the Seckford Education Trust because I wanted to be part of an organisation that put students first. I’ve stayed at the Trust because I still believe we make a positive difference in our communities.
The Seckford Education Trust takes the wellbeing of its staff seriously. I have always been supported when it comes to balancing work and family life.
Where do you see yourself in the Seckford Education Trust in 5 years?
In five years, I hope to still be working with wonderful colleagues and providing SET students with an excellent education.
