Each and every young person at SET Ixworth is a valued individual and we strive to create the foundation for our students to exceed their expectations. Enrichment programmes as diverse as sport, the arts, and languages offer our students the chance to work with peers, challenge themselves, and find new interests, as well as support students in thinking about life beyond school and encourage aspiration.

SET Ixworth looks to develop our students holistically, as we aim to not only achieve academic excellence, but more importantly that our students achieve personal development which stands them in good stead as they move beyond our direct influence and into young adulthood.

The availability of these enrichment activities have supported our mission of nurturing our students through the boost in confidence that engagement with the wider community will provide; challenge our students, as it offers the opportunity for them to develop new skills, and inspire them to raise their aspirations through the breadth of cultural capital and knowledge gained. Furthermore, involvement with these activities will provide a safe space where students can have fun whilst continuing to promote community cohesion as they build those very important relationships with staff and their peers.

There is a vast range of choice in the enrichment programme being offered, including performing arts – students are currently rehearsing for their ‘Moana Jnr’ performance, eco school, Duke of Edinburgh Award, British Sign Language, sports, computer science, self-defence classes and cross-country running, amongst many others.

We are also very proud to share the news of two of our students, who have been selected for the regional championships for the top 16 Suffolk runners in each age group and are also in great contention to be selected to represent Suffolk nationally in March, in cross-country running. Congratulations to Luca and Roman!
“As a school, we committed to providing our students an extensive variety of extracurricular activities and experiences,” says Mrs. Pia Parker, Head of School at SET Ixworth School. “We are preparing our students for a life of innovation, curiosity, and critical thinking”.
