Ixworth Free School students graduate at Cambridge University

Year 9 and 10 students have recently attended their Brilliant Club graduation ceremony at the University of Cambridge.

These students have undertaken degree level study and have been fortunate enough to work with a PhD researcher. The programme started and finished with a visit to a university and students have met undergraduates and received guidance from admissions tasks. In order to graduate, they have been required to attend university-style tutorials and have written assignments on topics beyond GCSE and A level.

Headteacher, Mark Barrow said: “this has been a fantastic opportunity for our students. The programme emulates a university-style learning experience and has stretched and challenged each student. Next year will be extending the programme to Year 7 and 8”.
