
Ixworth Free School celebrates top results after first set of GCSEs
The Department for Education has released its validated results for last year’s GCSE performance, confirming Ixworth Free School as being in the top 10 in Suffolk and in the top 10% of performing schools nationally for progress and attainment.
Ixworth Free School’s Progress 8 score of +0.44 puts the School amongst the best in the country, meaning that students achieved nearly half a grade higher in their GCSEs than the national average.
Mark Barrow, Headteacher at Ixworth Free School, said: “It is a huge achievement to be in the top 10 per cent of schools nationally. The strategy of focusing our resources on student outcomes has paid off. We are incredibly proud of students for their hard work and achievements during our first ever GCSE results last year and we look forward to building on our success for the future.”
